What is the minimum age to rent?
Renters must be 18 or older. The application asks for your date of birth and a valid driver's license, front and back.
What insurance do I need?
You need active auto insurance with full coverage: comprehensive and collision. Your policy must extend to rental vehicles, and we confirm that with your insurer before pickup.
The application asks for your insurance card. Your insurer's declarations page is optional; sending it makes verification faster.
How does the security deposit work?
Every rental has a refundable security deposit of $500 to $2,000, depending on the car. It is paid by Zelle before keys are released, separate from the rental payment. Ascend returns it after the rental, less any amount due under the rental agreement.
How long does it take to get my deposit back?
Your deposit is typically refunded within a few hours after the vehicle passes its return inspection. Please allow up to 24 hours after the vehicle is returned for the refund to be processed.
Is there a mileage limit?
Each rental includes 110 miles per day.

Ascend partners with owners across Michigan. Your car joins the fleet; we handle the renters, the vetting, and the schedule. The split is a straight 60/40, agreed before anything moves.
