What is the minimum age to rent?
Renters must be 18 or older. The application asks for your date of birth and a valid driver's license, front and back.
What insurance do I need?
You need active auto insurance with full coverage: comprehensive and collision. Your policy must extend to rental vehicles, and we confirm that with your insurer before pickup.
The application asks for your insurance card. Your insurer's declarations page is optional; sending it makes verification faster.
How does the security deposit work?
Every rental has a refundable security deposit of $500 to $2,000, depending on the car. It is paid by Zelle before keys are released, separate from the rental payment. Ascend returns it after the rental, less any amount due under the rental agreement.
How long does it take to get my deposit back?
Your deposit is typically refunded within a few hours after the vehicle passes its return inspection. Please allow up to 24 hours after the vehicle is returned for the refund to be processed.
Is there a mileage limit?
Each rental includes 110 miles per day.
Can someone else drive the car?
Yes. Another person can drive the vehicle as long as you let us know in advance so we can add them as an authorized driver. We’ll need a valid driver’s license from the additional driver, and they must either have their own full-coverage insurance or be covered under your insurance policy.
Do you deliver the car?
Yes, we offer vehicle delivery for a small additional fee. Delivery pricing depends on the distance, so longer-distance deliveries may have a higher fee. Contact us with your location and we’ll provide the exact delivery cost.
Can you deliver the car to the airport?
Yes, we can deliver the car to the airport.
What are the fuel requirements?
The car comes with a full tank and must be returned with a full tank. If not, the refueling cost will be deducted from the deposit.
What is the policy on speeding?
If the vehicle exceeds 95 mph twice, the rental will be terminated and the vehicle must be returned. If it exceeds 105 mph, the rental is terminated immediately with no warning.
What happens after I submit a reservation request?
We confirm coverage with your insurer first. Once it checks out, we text or call you to lock the dates.
What happens if I get a ticket during my rental?
You are responsible for paying any tickets or violations received during your rental.
What happens if the car is damaged?
You are responsible for any damage that occurs during your rental.
